White Marsh A |
The White Marsh solar farm is located in Baltimore County near White Marsh and Kingsville. The site is just on the east side of I-95 and is short leap north of Big Gunpowder Falls, the small river that flows into Gunpowder River and into the Bay. The state park that surrounds Big Gunpowder Falls is one of Maryland’s largest state parks and features more than 120 miles of multi-use trails. Plus, just 10 minutes from the site is the Honeygo Run Regional Park. It is a local favorite due to its ample various outdoor and indoor recreational facilities, trails, and beloved dog park. The site itself is on land owned by Baltimore Gas & Electric, and is not private farmland. This solar construction will not be taking any resources from the agricultural industry. In addition, this project is predominantly focused on supply energy to BGE’s low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents. Over 175 spots are dedicated to LMI customers, with another 175 spots open to others in the utility territory.
