Wagner |
Wagner Community Solar Farm is comprised of 13,910 solar panels that can track the sun to maximize panel efficiency throughout the day. These panels reside on 37 acres in the Sterling area that used to be farmed in the traditional sense to grow crops. Now, that soil can get a break while the panels that sit on top of it work hard to "farm" sunshine instead and turn it into savings for Neighborhood Sun's community solar subscribers. By using old farmland, we avoided cutting down any trees or clearing any land to build this community solar farm. Any areas that were disturbed in the process are being re-vegetated with a drought-resistant native seed blend. The coolest part about Wagner? 37 acres is a lot of ground to cover, so the plan is to use not only the cutest form of vegetation management but also the most environmentally conscious-- SHEEP!
